U.S Embassy Consular Services Day in Lyon 

The U.S. Embassy in Paris, in collaboration with the American Presence Post in Lyon is pleased to announce off-site consular services in 2015.  Select consular services will be available in Lyon on April 29th.

Applicants for passports, report of births and notarials must schedule an appointment with the Embassy in advance.  Appointments will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. 

To make an appointment, please send an email as early as possible to:

Include in the subject of your email the location where you wish to make an appointment (Lyon), the name of the person who will receive the service, and the type of service that you are requesting.  After requesting an appointment, you will receive further details, including location, time confirmation, and further instructions on what to bring to the appointment.  

Please note that incomplete applications submitted at the time of your appointment will not be processed and will be returned to you.

All consular fees must be paid in person on the day of your appointment by mandat cash only.  Please go here for more information on service fees and about the mandat cash form of payment.

Important Announcement

Effective October 1, 2014, American Presence Post Lyon will no longer accept applications for passports and birth registrations, Social Security numbers and other federal benefits, or provide notarial services.  

As of October 1, passport and birth registration applications and notarial services can be scheduled at either the U.S. Embassy in Paris or the U.S. Consulate General in Marseille

Please contact the Federal Benefits Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Paris for information on applications for Social Security numbers and other federal benefits.

As of October 1, 2014, all U.S. passport applications, reports of birth abroad applications and notarial services must be scheduled at either the U.S. Embassy in Paris or the U.S. Consulate General in Marseille. Limited services presently available at the American Presence Post in Lyon will cease September 30, 2014.  Please refer to the links provided below for detailed information.

The U.S. Mission to France will schedule periodic visits by consular officers to provide routine services to American citizens in Lyon.   These visits will be publicized to citizens actively listed in our Smart Travelers Enrollment Program (STEP), so please ensure that you are signed up in order to receive notices about such services as well as other messages from the U.S. Government.
